Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has been singing the praises of Tottenham striker Harry Kane, saying he finds the youngster’s attitude “refreshing.”
The Premier League’s all-time leading goal-scorer believes that Kane has the ability to be very good, and has expressed his praise for how the Spurs forward approaches the game.
Shearer told Sky Sports: “He can be very very good. I think his attitude is refreshing, his desire to get in goal-scoring positions, he has desire to score goals.
“I love his attitude and I love the way he gets his shots away early, whether that’s with his left foot or his right foot.”
Speaking at an event in North London today, the former Toon boss praised Kane for “terrorising” the Chelsea defence back in January, and wants to see him do the same on Sunday in the Capital One Cup final.
Shearer said: “I love the way he gave John Terry and Gary Cahill a tough time when they played Chelsea. We will see whether he can do that again on Sunday.
“I’m a fan of his. I think to talk about him being great, it is too early to do that because there is a lot of things that can happen.
“But you need a little bit of luck and I’ve been told that his attitude is excellent which I’m sure can help him.”
