Tottenham striker Harry Kane has said that this week has been the best week of his life.
The youngster scored on his debut in front of almost 90,000 people at Wembley stadium for England, captained his boyhood side at the weekend and won PFA Player of the Month for March, insisting this is a week he won’t forget.
Kane told the Evening Standard: “yes you could say it has been the best week of my life – to score, to make my first start and score for England, and to be captain today.”
Despite this memorable week, Kane failed to display a captain’s performance against Burnley on Sunday, as his side picked up an empty point on the road.
Missing several key figures, Spurs were rather lack-lustre in a game that was far from entertaining.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher even stated: “I like my football but that was hard work.”
