Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed all about his peculiar leave of absence back in December, shedding light on his dramatic family troubles.
The Togo international clearly has struggled with various “dark moments” in his career, and took to Facebook to reveal the truth about his mysterious life.
Many Spurs fans may change their attitude towards the forward, as despite appearing greedy with his wage demands, the full extent of how he spends his money is truly heart-warming.
The former Manchester City striker wrote:
“My brother Kola Adebayor, has now been in Germany for 25 years. He travelled back home about 4 times, at my expense. I fully cover the cost of his children’s education. When I was in Monaco, he came to me and asked for money to start a business. Only God knows how much I gave him. Where is that business today?”
The troubled star continued to reveal worrying details about his family, but maintained that the purpose of his outburst was not to “expose his family”.
It is difficult to label Adebayor’s poor display’s this season as his fault alone, as it is clear that he has to deal with a great deal of drama back home.
But with Mauricio Pochettino persistently giving him chances to redeem himself (such as his substitute appearance against former club Manchester City on Sunday), the amount of chances left for the striker at Spurs may be running out.
