FC Köln defender Kevin Wimmer confirmed to the media after their final home game of the season that he is joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Speaking after the 2-2 draw with Wolfsburg, the Austrian defender told reporters that he had sealed a deal with the North London club.
Wimmer said: “It (joining Tottenham) is the next step in my development.”
The hardened defender continued to say that whether the club are involved in Europe or not next season does not bother him.
The 22-year-old said: “I don’t mind whether they (Spurs) make the Europa League.
“I go to Tottenham, to go to the next level of my career. Even if you do not play in the Europa League.”
Should the club confirm the signing of the defender after Sunday’s match with Everton, the Austrian could make his first appearance for the club in the post-season friendly with FC Sydney at the ANZ Stadium on the 30th May.
