New Spurs signing Clinton N’Jie says his debut in the 3-1 victory over FK Qarabag in the Europa League was a “good experience.”
The former Lyon attacker says the home fans made the debut special for him, and believed his new side deserved the victory over the Azerbaijani champions.
“It’s a great moment for me!” N’Jie said.
“The Spurs fans here are very encouraging and they are always behind the players so for me it’s been a good experience.”
The Cameroon international, who recently got over an injury, joined Harry Kane as a substitute in the second half to make his full Spurs debut.
He said: “when I came on at 2-1 we were still in control but in football you never know what can happen and there’s always the possibility for either team to score, but we scored again so I think we did a good job.
“I’m satisfied with the victory, it was a good start. I think we deserved to win.”
N’Jie is in the squad for the visit of Crystal Palace this weekend at White Hart Lane.
